A Poem in Paint
"A silhouette of what once was, Standing tall against the white of today."
The Essence: This piece is a visual anthology of a moment caught in time. At the top, a clouded crown of silver and slate represents the fading edges of a thought, the part of a memory that we can no longer quite touch.
Below, a cathedral of color rises. Rows of sun-drenched ochre, bruised crimson, and flickering lemon yellow stand like books on a shelf or windows in a distant city. They are the vivid details we refuse to forget. Cutting through the center is a single, cool horizon of blue grey, the thin line where the past meets the present.
"Fragments of a Memory" is not just a painting; it is a quiet invitation to look inward and find the colors hidden within your own history.
My technique involves building up layers to create a sense of depth and history within the canvas. I am particularly drawn to:
Vertical Rhythms: Using repetitive strokes to create a visual "heartbeat" in the piece.
Color Contrast: Pairing industrial greys and earth tones with sudden, sharp pops of primary colors.
Structural Balance: Exploring the tension between what is solid and what is fragmented.
"Art is the bridge between what we see and what we remember."
